Institute Material Needs List
Please Contribute To This Community Project through Recycling & Reuse!
The below list is of needed items for the progression of 7 acres of future public gardens and pathways and for the New Leipzig, North Dakota MRISAR Institute Project!
Please note: We have a 501 (c) 3 Non-profit division to help maintain the public programs, grounds and other aspects of the New Leipzig Institute project. Items of monetary value and monetary donations are tax deductible with accordance to state and federal law. No board member has ever been paid and all donations are used directly for programs. If your contribution requires a recognition as a taxable value, please let us know.
Institute Material Needs List This list will be added to!
1- Tons of Rocks: rocks that can be used for, building retaining walls for raised garden beds, flat garden pathways and natural garden statues.
2- Tons of Clean Dirt: for landscaping and raised garden beds.
3- Old Manure (2 years or older): for raised garden beds.
4- Wooden Boards: clean wooden boards or planks that are untreated with no paint. To be used for architectural out door structures, like walking bridges, and retaining walls.
5- Metal T or U Posts: to stabilize retaining walls and trees.
6- Fencing: to define the gardens and walkways and to help protect them from wild animals, loose dogs, dirt bikes and 4 wheelers.
7- Old, Broken or Unused Lawn and Garden Equipment: for the creation and maintenance of the 7 acres of future public gardens and pathways. Can be anything from hand tools to tractors.
8- Trees (any size) of Fruit, Evergreens, Maple & Birch: for orchards, wind blocks, shade and scenery!
9- Perennial Plants: for gardens and landscaping. Seeds or plants!
10- Hedges & Shrubs: for wind blocks and scenery!
11- Riverbed Rocks: for small ponds and streams.
12- Pea Stones: for small ponds and streams.
13- Plastic Liner Material: for small ponds and streams.
14- Cement Working Tools and Equipment: to create the many handicap friendly pathways that will wind through the gardens and small ponds and streams.
15- Durable Lawn Furniture: metal or stone benches and seats for visitors to sit on.
16- Solar Panels: any size or age.
17- Out Door Saws: manual or mechanical for general out door use.
18- Electric Gulf Carts: to be used for out door maintenance - activities and for experimentation in alternative energies.
19- Clean Bricks: any size- to be used for retaining walls and pathways.
20- Paver Stones: any size, shape or color- to be used for pathways and sitting areas.
21- Bicycles: any size or gender- dual purposes; to encourage employees and volunteers to ride, instead of drive when running local errands on behalf of the institute or when on lunch break; and for experiments and interactive exhibits on alternative energies.
22- 300 Camping or Military Grade Folding Cots & Blankets: For emergency use. Since the goal of the institute is to be functional without the need of public utilities, it will be able to provide shelter in time of general emergencies.
23- Desk Computers, Notebook Computers, Printers, Flat Screens, Digital cameras or recorders- used or broken: for office, programs and exhibition use.
