The graphic panels on this page were scanned in at low resolution for faster on-line loading time. However many of the fine details and color gradations were lost in this transference.

The panels are not depicted with their back lit illumination and animation.

2} Lungs;  This is designed as a regular unit with 3 back lit graphic panels, 1 working model in a shadow box, and 1 3D model. Two of the three graphic panels are animated with light patterns that illustrate a principle:

(#1) panel LED animated, shows the action of the blood / oxygen exchange in the lungs during each breath.

(#2) panel LED animated, shows the main parts of the respiratory system and how the air travels through it.

(#3) panel compares graphics of a healthy lung versus a diseased lung and describes lung disease.

(#4) panel is a shadow box with a rubber diaphragm model of the lungs that the visitor can inflate.

A large model of a lung graces the main council area.

Also included is a list of True or False Questions. Next to this list is a set of push buttons allowing the visitor to select the appropriate answer. The DAST technology portion of the exhibit  allows the user to hear positive feedback or be prompted to try again.
