The graphic panels on this page were scanned in at low resolution for faster on-line loading time. However many of the fine details and color gradations were lost in this transference.

The panels are not depicted with their back lit illumination and animation.

1} Heart = This is designed as a regular unit with 4 back lit graphic panels and 1 3D model. Three of the four graphic panels are animated with light patterns that illustrate a principle:

(#1) panel shows the animated action of the blood flow through the heart.

(#2) panel shows the animated blood flow pattern through the body.

(#3) panel shows the visitor's actual heartbeat on an oscilloscope screen, and graphs the beat on a LED image of a heart. The signal for the image on the oscilloscope is derived from a sensor that the visitor can hold to their chest. The sensor is attached to the exhibit with vandal resistant armored cord similar to commercial phone cord.

(#4) panel depicts artificial implants.

The model is a large rendition of the human heart that can be opened to view the interior. When opened all four chambers are viewable along with the heart valves.

Also included is a list of True or False Questions. Next to this list is a set of push buttons allowing the visitor to select the appropriate answer. The DAST technology portion of the exhibit will allow the user to hear positive feedback or be prompted to try again.
