2007 THEA Award for Outstanding Museum Touring Exhibitions

We designed and built the two 3-Finger Robot Arms for the traveling show "Robots; the Interactive Exhibition", that is based on the movie "Robots" by 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studio. This show has been on continuous tour throughout the U.S., with great reviews including the "New York Times". Our two 3-Finger Robot Arms have proved to be extremely durable under this severe public and transportation use. It will continue it's tour until 2012. The show was produced by the Becker Group. Its national tour is made possible by the Ford Motor Company Fund. The exhibition received the 2007 THEA Award for Outstanding Museum Touring Exhibitions. The press has commented that our part of the exhibition is by far the most popular exhibit presented.

 

"The Last Mimzy" Movie

We designed and built the two 3-Finger Robot Arms (which appeared in several scenes with the scientist of the future), for the 2007 sci-fi family movie "The Last Mimzy", a Newline Cinema, Avery Pix, and Hanna Rachael Production, film.

 

Papahanaumokuakea, Marine National Monument

In the year 2000 we designed and built two custom made five finger robot arms for a Pieces Sub simulator for Bishop Museum- in HI, which were recently relocated to a new Discovery Center "Papahanaumokuakea, Marine National Monument- Mokupāpapa.

 

EAA Airventure Museum

EAA Airventure Museum- Wisconsin: Three robot arms, control panels and support electronics featured in two exhibits consisting of two three finger and one 5 finger robot arm.

 

Mid Hudson Children's Museum- New York

Mid Hudson Children's Museum- New York: Custom designed and created a robot arm, controls and support electronics for the Hudson River Dive Bell (yellow submarine exhibit).

 

Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Science & Technology Center

Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Science & Technology Center- Saudi Arabia: Two three finger robot arms and two complicated custom-made robot arms, controls, support electronics and activities. 

 

Telus World of Science

Telus World of Science- Calgary Canada: Robot arm, controls and support electronics custom made for a space station exhibition. 

 

Clay Center

Clay Center- Massachusetts: Telepresence Mars exploration robot arm exhibit.

Avery Pix, Newline Cinema, Hanna Rachael Productions: Created telepresence robot arms, controls and support electronics for the movie production (The Last Mimzy).

Taylor Group- Brampton Canada

Taylor Group- Brampton Canada: collaborated on the exhibit case designs to be used with our robotics. Installed our robotics on location at Taylor Group.

We designed and built these two arms to fit the exhibit case at COSI Columbus = Columbus, Ohio, USA.

 

Chicago Scenic Studios- Chicago IL

Chicago Scenic Studios- Chicago IL: Collaborated on design and installation of our robotics into the exhibition display cases for "Robots The interactive Exhibition". 

 

Museum of Discovery And Science

Museum of Discovery And Science- Fort Lauderdale Florida: Custom 3 finger robot arm. 

 

St. Louis Science Center

St. Louis Science Center = St. Louis, Missouri, USA.  We designed and built two arms and their interactive environment to fit the exhibit cases at the St. Louis Science Center.

 

Bishop Museum,Honolulu, Hawaii

Bishop Museum- HI: Two custom made five finger robot arms for a Pieces Sub simulator and a planetary probe robot. Both were for use in a NASA funded exhibition, which was very well received. We were told the opening of the show was visited by a couple representatives from NASA who expressed appreciation for the probe robot design and robot arms. The probe was given the Hawaiian name for victory after it's performance was deemed very successful by the head of the exhibit production firm we were working with. 

 

Imagination Station

Imagination Station- Toledo, Ohio: Three finger robot arm customized to an available display case at the museum and installed on location. 

 

Exhibit Works- Michigan

Exhibit Works- Michigan: three custom designed robot arms and activities that were integrated into three exhibitions at two museums.
